Fiona Apple is an American singer-songwriter who has captured many fans with her husky vocals and inventive piano music. Having played the piano ever since a young age, Fiona began writing and composing her own music when she was only eight years old. Apple’s 1996 hit – “Criminal” perfectly summed up her attitude, and perhaps even musical style when she confessed “I’ve been a bad, bad girl.’ Apple, who infamously suffered an onstage meltdown as well as being known for suffering from pretty serious stage fright, certainly had a moment. Between releasing 90’s hits, to almost retiring from the music industry altogether.
In a June 2012 interview, it was revealed that Apple had briefly married a French photographer several years earlier, “for complicated reasons” On September 19, 2012, Apple was arrested at an internal Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas and charged with possession of hashish. Authorities detained Apple at the Hudspeth County JailSame year on November, Apple wrote a letter to her fans, a scan of which was posted on her website and her Facebook page, postponing the South American leg of her tour due to the ill-health of her pet dog, Janet. According to the letter, the dog has Addison’s disease and has had a tumor “idling in her chest” for two years. She is vegan.
