Guess what? Tinder is not used for the purpose for which it was made. Forget the idea of a soulmate and embrace hookups. The popular dating app is used for several purposes, but not to find a match.

According to a recent research, Tinder is commonly used a confidence There’s a certain rush when you’re not looking for a date or expecting one but you look appealing to someone else.

It is great to get approval from others and to have your picture liked so much to the point that a stranger would like to hang out with you. Apparently, this is one of the main reasons why people love this app so much. LendEdu, a consumer finance comparison site, asked more than 3,800 millennials aged 18-22 if they used Tinder.

But not to find their match. 22% of those Tinder users are “looking for a hookup” and 29% percent said they use the location-based app for other reasons. And only 4% said they were “looking for a relationship. Crazy ah?
