Elton John Hosts A Concert In The Ancient Theatre Of Pompeii

The celebrated singer, Elton John is set to perform a concert in the ancient Roman amphitheatre in the ancient city of Pompeii. The city was famously buried under ash when the Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD and covered the entire city, killing a huge part of the population.

In this amphitheatre, gladiators battled, lives were lost, but now it will reckon with the force of Elton’s colorful music.

This is one of a string of world concerts planned for this year as Elton takes his show Wonderful Crazy Night on the road. But this particular concert will be quite unique. His Italian promoter D’Alessandro e Galli describes the location as “most evocative setting.”
