4 Things You Didn’t Think to Use as Eyeliner

A beautifully steady winged eyeliner can really compete a makeup look. And as people start to get more and more creative with their makeup art, the possibilities of acceptable looks and materials also expand. If you’re looking to try something new, here are four things that you can use instead of eyeliner to get a makeup look never before seen!

Lip Liner

Also coming in a pencil form, lip liner is a perfect alternative to eyeliner, and offers a whole new scheme of colors that are sure to impress those around you. If you have lighter eyes, going for a deep red or maroon will really make your eyes pop, while pinks look great on brown eyes!

Acrylic Paints

This one might come as a surprise, but acrylic paints tend to have the same consistency as liquid eyeliner, making them unexpectedly perfect as eyeliner. They usually don’t have toxic materials and are easy to apply and remove. Add a bit of water to your paint and use a tiny brush to create your designs, and the world is your oyster! You’ll never run out of colors to choose from.

Mascara

When your eyeliner runs out, but you can’t leave the house without your signature winged eyeliner, use what you have! Look no further than your bottle of mascara to make your eyes pop! It’s as easy as brushing an angled eyeliner brush against the mascara wand to get the product. Apply how you normally would. You could even smudge the mascara a bit and go for a smokey look.

Colored Pencils

As long as your colored pencils are non-toxic, you now have a set of brand new eyeliner pencils! To get pigment that will go easily on skin, dip your pencils in a cup of hot water for about 5 minutes, or until color glides onto skin. Then, use as you would normally use an eyeliner pencil! With a little bit of creativity, your eyes will blow everyone away!
