Your Hair Will Thank You for Making This Low-Toxin Hairspray

Pulled-back hair means business. Whether it’s for work, a dance show, or just because it needs a wash and you haven’t gotten round to that yet, pulling back your hair means that you have stuff to get done!

For those of us with flyaways, hairspray is a way to slick everything down and make the ‘do look more polished, but it can also contain ingredients that can be harsh on hair. Thankfully, it’s fairly easy to make your own all-natural version that works just as well.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 5 teaspoons raw sugar (adjust according to how much hold you require)
  • 15 drops of essential oils of your choice

Instructions

  1. Boil the water, turn off the heat, and mix in the sugar until dissolved.
  2. Allow the mixture to cool and then add your essential oils.
  3. Pour the solution into a spray bottle (glass is best). To store, keep it in the fridge.
