Post-Academy Awards, Tina Fey has announced she is extremely grateful she lives in New York City away from Hollywood’s craziness and double standards.
The comedienne was a star guest presenter at this year’s ceremony, but she said all the social messages of social activism were ridiculous. She especially felt it was incredibly hypocritical a room full of rich actors were arguing about corporate greed.
“Everyone’s telling me what to do. People are yelling at me about rape and corporate greed but really it’s climate change. I was like, ‘Guys, pick a lane. Like we’re going to fix everything tonight?’ And also, like, ‘You’re all rich. Why are you yelling at me about corporate greed?'”
But there were a few moments Tina enjoyed during the evening. She congratulated Chris Rock on his facing the race issue in his opening speech, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio’s acceptance speech. When asked what she thought of the speech, she stated, “I always am psyched when someone is articulate with those things because, let’s face it, actors are very stupid. But he’s smart and his speech was so cogent.”
