Ashley Schmeider and James Sisson love mountain climbing. In fact, it’s a way of life for the couple. So when they were planning their wedding, it was clear that there was only one place for them to do it. And guess where that was? Yep, Mount Everest. Mountain of all mountains!
For a year, Ashley and James worked on their wedding, training for this difficult expedition. They arrived in Nepal in March and three weeks later reached Everest Base Camp (17,000 feet high) with their photographer, Charleton Churchill. And it was there that they made their vows to love, honor and obey each other, dressed in full wedding finery (which hid the climbing boots they were wearing!) after having suffered deep snow, freezing temperatures, and altitude sickness together (that’s quite romantic we thought!)
The wedding pictures are spectacular. They show a spectacular blend of rich blue sky on crisp white snow with a rugged mountainous backdrop. The pictures really capture this unique moment in the couple’s life, especially the last one which shows the two looking up into the sky – dreaming perhaps of what the future holds.
We are sure that their wedding will be talked about for years to come!
