Nickelodeon is Officially Bringing Back Double Dare

On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, it was announced that the 90’s hit kid game show, Double Dare, will return for new episodes this summer.

According to reports, 40 new episodes will be aired and will feature new challengers as well as the classic favorites like Human Hamster Wheel, and the giant double dare nose. Like before, it will still feature two teams contending against each other to win the prizes.

A series of physical and mental challenges in the form of games and trivia will be what the teams must accomplish in order to dare each other, and ultimately, win the double and quadruple amount of money. Each team would have already won amounts of money but one who has the biggest amount will get the chance to compete in the special Double Dare obstacle course.

The original series ran from 1986 to 1983 and had several upgrades such as the Super Sloppy Double Dare and the Family Double dare. It was then reborn in 2000 as the new Double Dare 2000.

In the new version today, it was said that it will include a new game called Blasts from the Past and Stars from today. Just in 2016, Nickelodeon brought back the competition in 2016 for a 30thh Anniversary Reunion which featured the cast of All That and original Double Dare host, Marc Summers.

As to whether summers will still be hosting the show’s revival, no official statement has been released yet. However, he did hint to the press with a series of emoji when asked.
