How to Transition Your Wardrobe from Winter to Spring

Transitional dressing is one of the hardest things to get right. It’s super annoying to don all your winter layers and a heavy wool coat in the morning, only to find the sun bursting through at midday. Follow our top tips to achieve practical and stylish winter-spring transitional looks!

Light Layers

The key to transitional dressing is LIGHT LAYERS. A day in early spring can range from frosty temps in the morning to warm sun in the afternoon. We suggest combining lightweight basic tees with cozy knit cardigans and lightweight jackets such as a light trench coat, denim jacket, or an oversized blazer.

Knits & Florals

One of our favorite combos to welcome in the spring is to pair your winter knits with flowy florals. Pop on a cute floral dress, top with a chunky roll-neck, and add some low-denier pantyhose and ankle boots and you’ve got yourself a perfect spring ‘fit.

Spring Color Palate

It’s time to rely less on winter burgundies, dark blues, and emerald greens, and reintroduce warmer, paler spring hues like pinks, yellows, and lighter greens. Neutral spring colors include tan, ivory, and warm grey. Of course, you can still mix and match with your winter clothes, but adding a pop of pale will add an instantly spring-y feel to your look!
