With the start of a new year comes new reading goals. Reading more is a great goal to have, but how can you make sure you actually follow through with it? The answer is simple. You must integrate it into your routine.
We all know the “I’ll read in my spare time” story too well, and it doesn’t typically end well. This method of reaching a goal doesn’t work because we often find other ways to fill our spare time such a scrolling on social media or watching Netflix. While we’re not saying you can’t do that if you want to reach your reading goals, we are saying there’s a better way.
Make reading a part of your everyday routine. If you have time in the morning, say you’ll read for at least 15 minutes before you start your day. Another great time to schedule your reading is before bed. There’s nothing better than curling into a comfy bed with a good book, so why not make it a habit and do it every night?
The key to reading more books is to make progress everyday. Whether it’s 15 minutes or an hour, you can read more books if you try. You just need the right structure in place to help you do that!
