2023 Theme
The theme of this year’s Met Gala will be Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. According to the Costume Institute’s official press release, this exhibition will focus on the designer’s stylistic vocabulary and unique working methodology. It will feature 150 pieces accompanied by sketches, underscoring his complex creative process and the collaborative relationships.
Save the Date
This year’s Met Gala will take place on May 1, 2023 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. The invitation for this event is one of the most sought-after in the world, and all the proceeds from the tickets go towards the Costume Institute. Following the Met Gala, the exhibition will be open to the public on May 5.
Co-Chairs
Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has been Met Gala’s chairwoman since 1995, and she’ll return in that role. She’ll be joined by the pop sensation Dua Lipa, Emmy-winning actress and screenwriter Michaela Coel, Spanish superstar Penelope Cruz, and tennis icon Roger Federer.
