Succession, The Last of Us, and The White Lotus topped the list of this year’s Emmy nominations, leading the HBO sweep, but what about the shows that got left behind? Emmy voters snubbed a bunch of amazing shows and performances this year, and here are five major omissions that got everyone talking.
Yellowstone Universe Dramas
Yellowstone dramas have a pretty loyal audience, but Emmy voters don’t seem to be impressed by them. Even Hollywood veterans Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren couldn’t get Emmy nods for their roles in the prequel 1923.
Bad Sisters
Even though Sharon Horgan received a nomination for her role in Bad Sisters, it was pretty shocking to see this delightful Irish show miss out on the coveted outstanding drama series nod.
Outstanding Comedy Series
Many acclaimed series from the past year won’t be competing for the outstanding comedy series, including Poker Face, The Other Two, and Reservation Dogs, but at least Jury Duty made it through.
House of the Dragon Cast
Paddy Considine and Emma D’Arcy delivered powerhouse performances in House of the Dragon but failed to break into competitive acting categories.
Selena Gomez & Steve Martin
Only Murders in the Building is in the running for the outstanding comedy series, but it was pretty shocking to see Emmy voters only give Martin Short an acting nod for this series.
