The Television Academy unveiled the list of Emmy Awards nominations on Tuesday, with Succession, Ted Lasso, and The White Lotus coming on top. Shortly after the nominations were revealed, TV lovers were quick to point out the glaring absence of several beloved TV shows and actors, starting with these five.
This Is Us
Over its six-season run, This Is Us has earned 39 nominations and won four awards, but its glory days are long behind it. The final season of the hit NBC drama only received one nomination this time around, and it wasn’t even in one of the main categories.
Stranger Things
Stranger Things was nominated for outstanding drama and received a bunch of technical nods, but the Television Academy gave zero love to its actors—not even Sadie Sink or Millie Bobby Brown!
Selena Gomez
Gomez received an Emmy nomination for executive producing Only Murders in the Building, while the show itself received a total of 17 nods, but her performance was largely overlooked.
Acclaimed Comedy Shows
The comedy field at this year’s Emmy’s was quite competitive, but it was still heartbreaking to see that Atlanta, Black-ish, Reservation Dogs, and Better Things walk away without nominations for outstanding comedy series.
Yellowstone
Many expected Yellowstone will finally break into the Emmy race this year, but this beloved western and its star Kevin Costner walked away with outstanding zero nominations – despite the fact that the last season attracted 9.3 million viewers.
