Jennifer Garner’s Box Jumping Routine Will Have You Breaking a Sweat

Remember when you were a kid and jumping on the bed was one of the most fun activities you could do? Well, jumping has many benefits, which is why it forms part of high-intensity workouts.

Known as plyometrics, jump training can greatly improve muscle strength—even though it’s incredibly tiring. One person not letting the exhaustion get to her is Jennifer Garner.

At the age of 50, the star of The Adam Project can nail those jumps like a woman less than half her age. She recently posted a video to Instagram which showed her workout routine, and we’re out of breath just watching her!

“If your kids call your workout Jazzercise and it nearly kills you to complete it, do you have the right to video yourself and put it out there to haunt them when they are fifty?” the actress quipped in the caption.

The mother of three is quite adept at jumping, but if you’re just starting out, opt for alternating step-ups on a low surface such as a stair. You can also add in some loaded squats.

If plyometrics is something already in your wheelhouse and you’d like to emulate Jen, incorporate some double box jumps, pop squats onto a box, lateral jumps over a Bosu ball, and box jump squat thrusts.
