It’s no secret that within the most recent years singers Taylor Swift and Katy Perry haven’t exactly been the best of friends, especially since the release of Swift’s song “Bad Blood,” which supposedly was about some unresolved issues between the two stars. But with a new year could this potentially bring new friendships? In a holiday surprise, it appears both music superstars could be ready to put the past behind them and move forward. Photos and video footage have created rumors that Swift is filming a new music video for her song “End Game,” and that Perry has a cameo in it. The rumor running around is that one of the backup dancers looks coincidentally similar to Katy Perry. An anonymous source said that Taylor and Katy made up while they were both in Miami and that the American Idol judge did indeed film a cameo. As both the 28 year old “Shake It Off” star and 38 year old “Swish Swish” singer have been tangled in this feud for three years, neither has confirmed anything yet.
In one of Swift’s most recent songs, “Look What You Made Me Do,” she seemed to take a swing at Perry again in the music video. In the video, Swift sported a blonde bob and crashed her car as she looked shockingly similar to the “Dark Horse” celebrity. However, just two months before this video was released, Perry seemed ready to put their rivalry behind them. She said she would like to put an end to their rivalry during her promotional Witness World Wide live stream in June. ‘I am ready to let it go!’ the singer told Thrive Global Podcast’s Arianna Huffington.’I forgive, I forgive, I forgive her and I’m sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her.’
Could it be true that Perry is willing to look past the aim made at her from Swift’s video? Will Swift be able to put all the drama aside and make peace with a frenemy? I guess with time, we’ll soon enough find out. 2018 is a new year for many new opportunities, as well as old friendships.
