Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party returned on NBC for a second consecutive year this year. She co-hosted the event with her “fairy godmother” and country music star Dolly Parton. Produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Micheals with an A-list lineup, it was bound to be a night to remember. Here’s what you may have missed.
Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party was a show-stopper with A-list special guest stars such as rapper Latto, rock band Lily, singer Fletcher, Grammy-nominated artists SIA, and more. While making an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Cyrus said, “The lineup is very me. It is curated in a way that makes no sense but makes total sense.”
It is very easy to see why. The comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy with Ben Marshall, John Higgins, and Martin Herlihy also made an appearance on New Year’s Eve, which left the crowd in awe.
Joe Demio, who directed the show, wanted to create a more inclusive experience for all. NBCUniversal used the NBC broadcast, which has a live audio description and audio narration that described the rich visuals of the special. Demio carefully executed this idea to ensure fans and viewers who are visually impaired could also enjoy the show.
