Fans lost it when the Academy Awards nominations were announced last Friday, introducing us to many amazing new movies worth checking out. If you want to watch all the best picture contenders before the Oscars, we’re bringing you a brief viewing guide that will help you figure out where to find them.
Big Screen
Many of the Oscar contenders aren’t available on streaming services, and you can only check them out on the big screen. Historical dramas The Brutalist and Nickel Boys can only be seen in theaters, along with the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown and the Portuguese political drama I’m Still Here.
Streaming Services
The crime musical Emilia Pérez made quite a splash after hitting Netflix, and it went on to score 13 Academy Awards nods. Dune: Part Two can also be streamed on Netflix, in addition to being available on Hulu. The Substance can be streamed on Mubi, while Conclave is only available on Peacock.
Rent or Buy
Apple TV and Prime Video offer several best picture contenders in digital format. The hit musical Wicked and the indie dramedy Anora can be purchased or rented, in addition to still showing in theaters. Dune: Part Two, The Substance, and Conclave are also available available to purchase or rent, in addition to streaming online.
