]]>The Rhodes founder is just one of Mary Philips’ clients, with others including Jennifer Lopez and Kylie Jenner. For years, the MUA has been using an application strategy that we have all now cottoned onto.
Called “underpainting”, it involves applying concealer and contour before putting in foundation. The result?
A gorgeous “lit from within” glow that also looks super natural.
The trick to underpainting is starting with good skincare. You want to make sure the skin is well-moisturized with creams and serums so that it looks good even with little makeup.
Apply contour along the hairline, down the bridge of the nose, beneath the cheekbones, and the jawline to create a sculpted look, and then place concealer under the eyes. You then want to apply a thin layer of foundation using a fluffy brush for that air-brushed effect.
Finish it off with some cream-based bronzer and blush, and you’re good to go!

“I know we’re tired of my constant color switch up but … the chocolate glazed donut nails are really hitting for me for fall,” she wrote alongside a video that she posted on TikTok.
The chocolate version of the donut trend has once again been created by Hailey’s go-to nail tech, Zola Ganzorigt. The original was inspired by the dress which Mrs. Bieber wore the 2022 Met Gala. “We were originally just doing translucent white, but after I put on the color, I asked Hailey to try the chrome effect because it would match her dress. That’s how we discovered [the] ‘glazed donut’ nail,” Ganzorigt said.
The cocoa-inspired nails use OPI Infinite Shine in You Don’t Know Jacques! or Espresso Your Inner Self which look just like melted milk chocolate. Talk about a perfect donut topping.

Hailey’s glazed donut nails are all over social media, and her skincare range, Rhode, is selling out super fast. But, as anyone worth their beauty sleep knows, it’s as much about what you put into your body as on it.
Part of the 25-year-old model’s glowy routine is this mineral-rich smoothie which will give your skin a boost from within. It includes ingredients like collagen, hyaluronic acid, and sea moss gel to hydrate, firm, and smooth. Plus, it tastes pretty good!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 cup strawberries
- ¼ avocado
- 2 pitted dates
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened strawberry jam
- 1 tablespoon coconut cream
- 2 scoops vanilla collagen powder
- 1 tablespoon hyaluronic acid
- 2 tablespoons sea moss gel
Instructions:
- Place the almond milk, strawberries, avocado, dates, maple syrup, collagen powder, hyaluronic acid, and sea moss gel into a blender and pulse until smooth.
- Place the strawberry jam and coconut cream at the bottom of the serving glass, and pour in the smoothie mixture.

]]>Thankfully, Hailey’s nail artist, Zola Ganzorigt, has posted a tutorial to show us how to recreate the look using all the same products. Zola used gel, but Crystal who goes by @lovefreshpaint on Instagram has shown us how to achieve the look with regular polish.
Step #1
After prepping the area, Crystal applies one layer of Essie’s Smooth-E onto clean nails. This will act as a base coat while filling any ridges and smoothing out the natural nail.
Step #2
Olive & June’s BEB is what Crystal uses as the first shade of color. The polish has been described as a sheer, milky white that is the perfect bridal shade. Apply one coat and let it dry.
Step #3
For that pearly tinge that is the icing on top, paint one layer of Essie’s Expressie FX Filter in the shade Iced Out. The shimmery color contains duo-chrome pearls that shift from pink to purple to teal.
Step #4
Because we want our donut nails ultra glazed, add a coat of Essie’s Gel Couture polish in Sheer Fantasy. This will give the nails an extra pink hue.
Step #5
Finish off with your favorite top coat. Then let it dry and enjoy your delicious nails!
