Casey Affleck was recently awarded with the best actor Oscar at the Academy Awards. However, this time not everyone was happy with the result. It wasn’t because of his lack of talent or to favor his opponents, but mostly because of who Casey Affleck is. Throughout award season in fact, sexual harassment allegations against the actor have been revealed.
Casey finally addressed the issue in an interview with the Boston Globe. “I believe that any kind of mistreatment of anyone for any reason is unacceptable and abhorrent, and everyone deserves to be treated with respect in the workplace and anywhere else,” he said. “There’s really nothing I can do about it. Other than live my life the way I know I live it and to speak to what my own values are and how I try to live by them all the time.” He added that none of the people condemning him knows the truth. The parties involved in the case cannot talk and so there is no way for these haters to judge him, they cannot know whether he is innocent or guilty. I guess only the time will tell us the truth, in the meantime Casey will keep his Oscar on the shelf.
