3 Ways to Keep Cool During the Summer

Hear that? That’s the sound of us overheating on the couch. Summer has arrived with a bang and brought with it the high temperatures. While we’re all for warm, sunny days, the heat can be sweltering if there is no aircon in sight. If that is the case for you, here are some ways to stay cool sans AC.

Cold Compress

Lying back with a cool cloth on your head is not just therapeutic, it can regulate your body temperature too. After all, it is a recommended method for trying to break a fever. Simply wet a cloth and lay it on your forehead, or grab a bag of frozen peas out of the freezer, wrap them in a towel, and place them on your body.

Light Fabrics

Clothing can feel particularly restrictive when it is hot. While stripping down to your birthday suit is definitely an option, it may gain a few unsavory looks if done in public. Rather stick to cool, breathable fabrics like linen and cotton.

Cold Foods and Drinks

This may seem the most logical, but if your body is feeling too hot, put something cold in it. Frozen grapes, berries, and other fruit are a fabulous idea. It’s also important to stay as hydrated as you can, so don’t forget to drink loads of water.
