If you’re looking for a hairstyle that works for everything from casual outings to formal events, here’s a step-by-step guide to creating a picture-perfect French twist. 

Step 1: Prep Your Hair

Begin by brushing your hair to remove any tangles or knots. For added texture and grip, lightly spritz your hair with a texturizing spray or apply a small amount of dry shampoo.

Step 2: Gather Your Hair

Gently gather all your hair at the nape of your neck and hold it in your non-dominant hand, creating a low ponytail. Make sure it is centered and secure it with a hair tie.

Step 3: Twist and Tuck

Hold the ponytail with one hand while using your other hand to twist the ponytail upwards, towards your scalp. As you twist, continue pulling the ponytail upwards, creating a vertical roll.

Step 4: Secure the Twist

Once you’ve reached the crown of your head, carefully tuck the ends of the twist into the roll, securing them with bobby pins. Insert the pins at an angle, crisscrossing them for added hold.

Step 5: Finishing Touches

Smooth down any loose strands and apply a light-hold hairspray to set the style. For a more romantic look, leave a few face-framing tendrils loose.

Every season comes with a variety of new trends and styles, and summer brings plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy the warm weather we’ve been missing since last summer ended. We’re especially looking forward to breaking out our shorts and sundresses, but whatever summer style means for you, know that the right pair of shoes has the power to transform an outfit. To prepare, we did a bit of digging to figure out which shoe styles are taking over for Summer 2023.

The early 2000s are back and better than ever this year—platforms low and high are everywhere from high fashion runways to online boutiques. Also on trend are woven styles made from materials like leather, wicker, and raffia. We love the way this pair by Dolce Vita combines multiple textures!
