Whether you’ve recently experienced a significant life change, a new phase, or simply feel that your current wardrobe no longer reflects your personality, starting over with your wardrobe can be an empowering and liberating experience. We’ll guide you through the process of refreshing your wardrobe, embracing change, and cultivating a style that represents the confident and authentic you.

Assess Your Current Wardrobe

The first step to starting over is to take a thorough inventory of your current wardrobe. Take out all your clothes and accessories, and categorize them into different piles based on their condition, fit, and how often you wear them. Donate or sell items that you haven’t worn in over a year or those that no longer serve your style.

Define Your Personal Style

Before diving into a shopping spree, take the time to discover and define your personal style. Consider your lifestyle, body shape, and the image you want to project. Create a mood board or follow fashion blogs and social media accounts to find inspiration for your new style direction.

Build a Capsule Wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe consists of essential pieces that are versatile and timeless, making it easier to mix and match outfits. Invest in quality basics like a well-fitted pair of jeans, a classic white shirt, a little black dress, and versatile jackets. These pieces form the foundation of your new wardrobe.

Introduce Statement Pieces

Add personality to your capsule wardrobe by incorporating statement pieces that reflect your personal style. These can be bold prints, unique accessories, or standout shoes that elevate your outfits and make a statement about who you are.

Organize Your Wardrobe

Once you’ve curated your new wardrobe, keep it organized and clutter-free. Use storage solutions like wardrobe dividers, drawer organizers, and shoe racks to maintain order and ensure that each piece is visible and easily accessible.

Transitional dressing is one of the hardest things to get right. It’s super annoying to don all your winter layers and a heavy wool coat in the morning, only to find the sun bursting through at midday. Follow our top tips to achieve practical and stylish winter-spring transitional looks!

Light Layers

The key to transitional dressing is LIGHT LAYERS. A day in early spring can range from frosty temps in the morning to warm sun in the afternoon. We suggest combining lightweight basic tees with cozy knit cardigans and lightweight jackets such as a light trench coat, denim jacket, or an oversized blazer.

Knits & Florals

One of our favorite combos to welcome in the spring is to pair your winter knits with flowy florals. Pop on a cute floral dress, top with a chunky roll-neck, and add some low-denier pantyhose and ankle boots and you’ve got yourself a perfect spring ‘fit.

Spring Color Palate

It’s time to rely less on winter burgundies, dark blues, and emerald greens, and reintroduce warmer, paler spring hues like pinks, yellows, and lighter greens. Neutral spring colors include tan, ivory, and warm grey. Of course, you can still mix and match with your winter clothes, but adding a pop of pale will add an instantly spring-y feel to your look!
