]]>When you learn a new language, there’s no doubt that you will make mistakes. You’ll use the wrong word, or you’ll mispronounce something. Inevitably, some of these mistakes can be pretty embarrassing–unless you learn to laugh at yourself. If you learn to take yourself less seriously and laugh at your mistakes, you will have a great time learning a new language. The best part is that it carries over into other areas of your life. You learn to have more grace with yourself for making mistakes, which most of us could benefit from.
When was the last time you really challenged yourself and tried something new? When was the last time you did something that you weren’t automatically good at? It’s probably been a while, but doing these types of activities are so good for us. When you challenge yourself, you activate your mind in new ways and you begin to see how much you are capable of. We often shy away from things that are difficult because we don’t want to feel incapable, but challenging ourselves (and overcoming those challenges) actually improves your self esteem even more!
