Brown Lips

Lipsticks in shades of beige and dark chocolate are everywhere this season, and this is one makeup trend we hope sticks around. Brown lips are an easy way to add a touch of elegance to your look, yet are neutral enough to work with almost any skin tone. 

Flower Power

This one goes for more than makeup—the cartoonish, yet dainty flowers of the ’90s are having a moment in the form of all kinds of accessories such as chokers and hair clips. We especially love the idea of rocking them as a manicure to add a bit of fun to any outfit. 

Smoky Eyes

While we’re not convinced smoky eyes ever really went out of style, we’ve been seeing a definite increase in the grungy, smudgy, stayed-up-all-night version of the look that was especially popular on the decade’s runways and red carpets. Think of celebrities like Pamela Anderson and Angelina Jolie.

]]> To quote Meryl Streep’s iconic character in the 2006 comedy drama The Devil Wears Prada, “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” While the use of flower-inspired elements in spring fashion isn’t exactly new, one floral ‘90s trend started to make a comeback toward the end of last year, and we’re excited to see it continue into the coming season. 

We’re talking about 3D floral appliques—chokers in particular. Over the last few months, celebrities and influencers like Kendall Jenner and We Wore What’s Danielle Bernstein have been spotted wearing floral chokers as part of both runway and street style looks.

Rose appliques have also been central to the creations of couture designers such as Tom Ford and Richard Quinn at many Spring/Summer 2023 fashion shows. 

As it so often does, the influence of high fashion and celebrity style has trickled down to the mass market. Brands from ASOS to Zara have followed the lead of these trendsetters by offering their own versions of these dynamic, eye-catching pieces. 

Regarding the question of how to style floral chokers, we’re of the opinion that less-is-more is the best approach. Pair yours with clean, simple outfits in neutral colors, and try to keep other accessories to a minimum.
