]]> Being a plant parent is tough, but rewarding work. You need to remember to water them and how often each plant requires it. You have to make sure that they are getting enough sunlight. Maybe you even want to make sure they feel loved (we get it–some people take their plant parent role very seriously). With all of these responsibilities, the last thing you want to deal with are those pesky flies that love your plants. That’s why we’ve compiled a few ideas for how to get rid of the flies for good!

Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is one of the most effective ways to get rid of gnats in your plants. Immediately upon contact with the solution, they will die. The best part is it won’t harm your plant at all. All you need to do is mix 1 part hydrogen peroxide with 4 parts water and pour into the soil of your plant. Repeat every few weeks (or as needed)

Vinegar and Dish Soap

If you don’t have hydrogen peroxide, there’s another method to getting rid of these flies that works really well. If you fill a cup with white vinegar and a few drops of dish soap, place it near your plants and it will act as a trap. The dish soap makes the gnats stick to the mixture and die, so they won’t keep flying around.
