]]>The look is extremely in for fall, with Birkin bangs being all the rage. The style is named after actress Jane Birkin who dominated during the ‘60s and ‘70s—and yes, inspired the iconic Birkin bag.
Longer than most fringes, Birkin bangs end between the eyebrows and eyelashes and begin about an inch away from your hairline. In contrast to bulky, blunt bangs, the Birkin version is more wispy and sparse.
What’s great about these bangs—aside from the fact that they look great with your hair down or pulled back—is that they work on any hair type! As a rule of thumb, keep the rest of the layers framing your face below the chin and disconnected from the bangs.
The idea is for the fringe to appear “effortlessly cool”, so rough dry your hair before taking a round brush to the ends and quickly passing a flat iron over the bangs. Soft and straight with a slight bend is what we’re aiming for.

It’s created by applying one coat of white polish followed by a mixture of a shimmery white with a top coat.
Some of us may remember the ‘90s when the grunge music scene inspired seriously dark nail polish colors. Black on nails is back, but this time in the form of more subtle designs such as flowers or french tips.
Gray might seem like a boring nail polish color, but you can expect to see it everywhere this fall. At least it’ll go with almost any outfit. We especially love the shades nail polish brand Olive & June has released.
